Membership: When you join the HB duPont PTA, you join a community that encourages student achievement and enriches the learning environment. The school and the students benefit from our membership support in many ways. PTA dues go directly to funding numerous school activities and programs, such as:
- Student activities and funding for ALL grade levels
- Financial assistance for Sports/academic clubs
- Class incentives and supplies
- Transportation for field trips
- Software for “Accelerated Readers” program
- Books for the Library
- Staff Appreciation Breakfasts/Luncheons
- 8th grade end-of-year celebration
- PTA Newsletter ..... and much more!
Volunteering: Please remember - volunteering is purely optional, NOT mandatory. However, our parent volunteers are the heart and soul of our many events. If you are interested in volunteering your time, please click on the link above and send in your information. We thank you for your support!
Committees: Below is a summary describing many of our commitees:
- Teen Centers - Supervised Dances/Socials for 6th and 7th/8th graders.
Food, snacks, and a DJ are provided. The gym is also open for supervised
sports.
- Annual family event to be determined.
- Book Fair - Usually in the fall.
- Kids Who Care (Community Outreach) - This is an after-school activity that involves
students and parents in community outreach/community service.
- Reflections - Held in the winter, Reflections is a national PTA program
that asks students for entries in creative arts, music, and literature.
The PTA and staff help to judge entries.
- Teacher Appreciation - The PTA hosts breakfasts or luncheons in honor of
the HB Staff and Teachers numerous times during the school year.
- Membership and Volunteers - These committees work throughout the year to
promote PTA membership and volunteer assistance.
- Newsletter and Website - These are the primary sources of communication
between the PTA, school, and families.
- Product Incentives - A program at HB geared to help earn additional funds for the many programs that the PTA supports. Don't forget to collect your General Mills box tops! The program also collects receipts from Acme and Zingos to raise additional funds.
By Laws: This past year the PTA ratified a set of by-laws. HB PTA By-Laws (pdf)
